Finding help: trusted adults and legal support

Ages 9-1210 minLast reviewed: 2026-07-21Awaiting professional legal review

Step 1 of 11: Introduction

No one handles hard situations alone, adults don't either. The skill this lesson teaches is smaller and more useful than it sounds: how to pick your trusted adults ahead of time, how to ask for help clearly, and which free helplines and legal aid organizations exist for young people. Asking for help is not weakness or snitching. It's what rights look like in action.

In this lesson

  • Choose your three, before you need them
  • Free help that already exists
  • How to ask so help actually comes
