John Stavropoulos
John Stavropoulos is the co-founder of KidsKnowRights, a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to making legal rights easier for young people to understand. He helps lead the organization’s partnerships, outreach, educational content, and digital initiatives, working to make accessible legal education available to youth and families.
Nicolas Gutierrez
Nico Gutierrez is the Director of Multilingual Community Outreach at KidsKnowRights, helping expand the organization’s reach across English, Spanish, and Chinese-speaking communities. He works to make rights education more accessible by building community connections and helping ensure resources can reach young people across languages and backgrounds.
Sam Weinstein
Sam Weinstein is the Director of Research and Innovation at KidsKnowRights, helping the organization stay ahead of the questions and challenges young people face. He leads research into what students need, which laws are changing, and how new ideas can reach more young people, working to keep education on rights relevant, effective, and forward-looking.
Manuel Raventos
Manuel Raventós is the Operations Manager at KidsKnowRights, helping the organization grow its programs and reach more young people. He supports the coordination and expansion of KidsKnowRights’ educational initiatives, working to make rights education more accessible, effective, and sustainable.
问题所在
年轻人身边到处是规则和法律，在学校、在工作中、在网上、在社区里，可几乎没有人教他们这些规则到底说了什么，又能给他们什么保护。法律信息是写给有法学学位的成年人看的，大多只有英文，而且常常要花钱才能看到。最难获得这些信息的人，也就是儿童、青少年和移民家庭，恰恰最需要它。这道鸿沟不是谁有意造成的，但总得有人去填补。
使命
通过易于获取的法律教育赋能年轻人，让每个孩子都了解自己的权利，并有信心行使这些权利。
愿景
我们期待这样一个未来：法律素养和读写能力、理财素养一样基本，让每个孩子都拥有知识和信心，能够安全地应对世界、为自己发声，并充分参与社会。
核心信念
每个孩子都应该了解自己的权利。知识就是力量，法律素养绝不应取决于一个家庭的收入、语言或移民身份。

为什么青年领导很重要
成年人给年轻人讲权利，常常听起来像说教。年轻人彼此讲权利，听起来就像聊天。青年领导决定了我们做什么：话题来自学生真正会问的问题，语气始终坦诚，设计照顾到短暂的注意力，又不居高临下。青年领导并不取代专业审阅；它决定做什么内容，而法律专业人士负责核查内容是否正确。
法律专业人士可以怎样帮忙
本网站的每一节课程、每一个情景练习和每一张权利卡片都标有审阅状态。律师、法学教授和法学院学生可以审阅内容的准确性，指出需要补充的地区差异说明，并提出更正建议。这是实实在在、影响广泛的公益法律服务：审阅一节课程，就可能帮助成千上万的学生。

社区如何参与
学校举办工作坊。图书馆和社区中心分发印好的卡片。移民支持组织用社区的语言共同制作资料。家庭告诉我们接下来需要解答哪些问题。我们的长远愿景是让法律素养像阅读一样被自然地教授：在教室里、在课后项目中、在家里的餐桌旁。

KidsKnowRights 是一家由青少年主导的非营利组织。我们发布的一切都是免费的，本网站上没有任何东西出售。我们不是律师事务所，不提供法律服务或个人化的法律意见；我们的工作是教育性的。我们目前不接受在线捐款，并且在我们的联邦免税资格获得书面确认之前，不会将任何捐助描述为可抵税。
