KidsKnowRights is a youth-led nonprofit organization. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. Reading this site, completing lessons, reading articles, printing cards, or contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone.
Laws vary and change
Legal rules in the United States differ by state, city, school district, age, and circumstances, and they change over time. Where variation is significant, our content says so, but no summary can cover every local difference. The "last reviewed" date on each piece of content shows when we last checked it.
Review status
Each lesson and scenario displays whether it has been reviewed by a licensed legal professional. Content marked "awaiting professional legal review" was researched carefully against the cited sources but has not yet had that additional layer of review. We publish the status honestly so you can weigh it, and we invite attorneys to help us review everything.
